Welcome to our veterinary practice in Jacksonville, FL, where we pride ourselves on our unique approach to veterinary care. Driven by our philosophy to treat each patient as if it were our own pet, our dedicated team of professionals is committed to providing personalized and compassionate care. We believe in building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners, and strive to create a comfortable and stress-free environment for all. From comprehensive wellness exams to advanced diagnostics and treatments, we are here to meet all of your pet's healthcare needs and ensure they receive the same level of care we would want for our own beloved pets.
Dr. Erin Ouellette
Dr. Erin grew up in Colorado and New Jersey surrounded by her family's horses, dogs and cats. She began riding horses at the age of three and always aspired to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Erin graduated from the University of Maine and received her Veterinary Medicine Doctorate Degree from Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where she studied large and small animal medicine. After her graduation from veterinary college in 2004, Dr. Erin moved to Saint Johns County where she has practiced large and small animal medicine. Dr. Erin opened Atlantic Veterinary Hospital in May 2010.
She currently lives in Saint Augustine with her husband Jason, a practicing Orthodontist (Saint Johns Orthodontics in World Golf Village), and their two children. They enjoy spending time with their family and friends. It is her passion to help homeless animals and match them with loving, forever homes.
Dr. Herb Loeman
Dr. Herb grew up on a small farm in Canada. He graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI and worked for 3 years in a mixed animal practice outside Calgary, Alberta. He always talks about how he did a cesarean section on a cow in minus 40 degrees!
Dr. Herb loves all types of animals. He has practiced since 2003 and always says that it feels like he has never worked a day in his life. Dr. Herb especially likes orthopedic surgery and has a soft heart for rescue animals.
Dr. Herb enjoys spending time with his partner Raina and baby Silas. They also have “Leo”, a rescue dog, who can always be seen riding with Dr. Herb to farm calls and “Zombie” the rescue cat. Dr. Herb and Raina love to travel and explore new places. They love living close to the beach, kayaking, hiking, and biking, all the wonderful things the Florida sun offers.
Meet Our Dedicated Team
Patty Runk
Patty Runk began her tenure with Atlantic Veterinary Hospital when it opened in May of 2010. Patty has enjoyed the opportunity to meet, and work with so many caring owners and their pets, it has been such a rewarding experience. As Office Manager, her duties are many, but she manages it all with a smile.
Over the years, Patty enjoyed her time running the First Coast Hunter Jumper Association horse shows and many years at the Limelight Theater in Saint Augustine. She has made many lifelong friends in our wonderful community.
Patty and her husband Don have two daughters, Hallie and Amie, two favorite sons-in-law, Charlie and Keegan, and of course grandson, Alex and granddaughter, Eleanor.
Natalie Sauble
Natalie has enjoyed working at AVH for the past couple of years. She attended undergrad at Oklahoma State University and studied animal science. She enjoys learning new things and working in a fast-paced environment. She looks forward to attending a veterinary program in the near future.
In her free time, you will find her at the beach playing beach volleyball. She has two furbaby German Shepherds that she adores.
Grace Larison
Grace joined our team last year when she moved from Chicago. She has enjoyed learning all the Ins and Outs about Veterinary Medicine. She especially likes our feline patients and caring for all our rescue kittens. She adopted Maizy, one of our AVH Kittens, and has another cat Sophie at home.
